Silver dust is a members item in Old School RuneScape. It is ground up silver made by grinding a silver bar in the bone grinder at the Ectofuntus. This is the only way to make it. A pestle and mortar will not work on silver, unlike most other ground Herblore ingredients.
Silver dust is a key ingredient in the Guthix balance potion. This potion is used against several types of Vampyre, so silver dust matters for players who fight these enemies. It is also needed in the While Guthix Sleeps quest. In that quest, players place silver dust on the statue of balance in the Ancient Guthixian Temple with the other Guthix balance ingredients to get a balance dolmen.
Silver dust is tradeable and noteable. It cannot be equipped and it does not stack. Each one weighs 0.15 kg. The item ID is 7650, and it was released on 22 March 2006. Buying silver dust saves players a trip to the Ectofuntus and the work of grinding silver bars one at a time. It is a simple way to get ready for Vampyre fights or quest work in OSRS.
