Description

Topaz bolts are steel bolts tipped with red topaz in Old School RuneScape (OSRS). They are stackable ammo for crossbows and give a ranged attack bonus of +66.

Players with level 48 Fletching can make these bolts. A cut red topaz used with a chisel makes 12 red topaz bolt tips. Attaching the tips to steel bolts makes the finished bolts, ten at a time.

With level 29 Magic, players can cast Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Red Topaz) to turn 10 topaz bolts into Topaz bolts (e). The spell uses 2 Fire runes and 1 Cosmic rune and gives 33 Magic XP. Enchanted topaz bolts have a 4% chance to trigger the Down to Earth effect, which lowers the target's Magic by 1 level. This effect only works against other players, so it is useful in PvP fights. Players who have finished the Hard Kandarin Diary get a 10% boost to the effect chance, raising it to 4.4%.

Topaz bolts are traded on the Grand Exchange with a buy limit of 11,000 per 4 hours. They are a solid pick for players who want cheap ammo they can also enchant for PvP.
