Description
The Apex hide cowl is a tier 85 ranged tank helmet in RuneScape 3. It does not degrade, so it never needs repairs. You need level 99 Ranged to wear it. It is a members only item and it is tradeable.
The cowl gives strong defence for the head slot. It has 435.6 armour, a bonus of 850 life points, and 1.98% damage reduction against monsters. In PvP, the damage reduction is 3.7125%. It has no accuracy penalty for ranged attacks.
You can upgrade the cowl with extra apex leather up to +5. Each upgrade raises the armour tier by 1 and needs double the leather of the last step. At the top upgrade, it becomes tier 90 with 491 armour.
Players with level 100 Crafting can also make the cowl from 2 apex leather and 2 apex sinew. This uses the tailoring process with a pattern table, a drafting table, and a tailor's dummy. Making it gives 5,280 Crafting experience.
The cowl is part of the Apex hide armour set, which also includes the top, chaps, vambraces, and boots.
