This armour is a strong pick for players who want to take less damage in melee combat. The base version has 389.6 armour, a 1,125 life points bonus, 1.5% damage reduction against monsters, and 4.5% damage reduction against other players.
The platebody is made at a forge and anvil with 5 bane bars at level 80 Smithing. Adding 5 more bars turns it into the + 1 version. Smiths can keep upgrading it all the way to + 4, which is tier 79. The full path from base to + 4 takes 80 bane bars in total.
The armour degrades over 10,000 charges of combat and can be repaired. Use an armour stand, a whetstone, or an anvil with bane bars. The repair cost matches how many charges are lost. The item can also be disassembled for parts like Cover parts, Plated parts, and Protective components.
