Description

The bane square shield + 3 is a tier 78 melee shield in RuneScape 3. It goes in the shield slot and needs level 80 Defence to wear. It is a members-only item.

This shield gives 365.8 armour to keep you safe in melee combat. It is one step below the strongest square shield in the game. It has been upgraded three times from the base bane square shield, using a total of 16 bane bars.

You can upgrade it one more time at a forge and anvil with level 80 Smithing. Adding 16 more bane bars turns it into a bane square shield + 4, which is tier 79 and the strongest square shield in the game. The + 4 shield gives 375.2 armour, a 350 life points bonus, and 7.9% PvM damage reduction.

The shield degrades in combat and can break, but it can be repaired. You can fix it on an armour stand, a whetstone, or an anvil with bane bars. The shield is tradeable, so it works well for players who want to skip smithing it themselves.
