The Black dragonhide shield is a Ranged shield in RuneScape 3. It is made from real dragonhide. You need level 60 Defence to wear it. It fits in the shield slot and works as a tier 60 item.
This shield gives 226.4 Armour. It also cuts damage from monsters by 6%. That makes it a solid pick for rangers who want extra safety in fights. It is a members-only item. It is tradeable, so players can buy and sell it. It can also be noted and disassembled.
Players can craft this shield at level 60 Crafting. It takes four black dragon leather, a needle, and thread. Making one gives 344 Crafting experience. Wearing the Crafting cape removes the need for thread.
The shield also ties into two achievements. For Changing of the Guard, you must beat the King Black Dragon while wearing black dragonhide in six equipment slots in a solo instance. For Ebony and Irony, you must heal with Resonance against Alanogard the Black while holding this shield.
If you disassemble the shield, you get 8 materials. These can include Cover parts, Base parts, Deflecting parts, Strong components, and Protective components.
