Description

The Black wizard hat is a classic magic hat in RuneScape 3. It is a free-to-play item that any player can wear. There are no level requirements to equip it, so even new players can put it on right away.

This hat gives a small magic defence bonus. It is tier 5 tank armour for the head slot. It has 30 armour, a 50 life points bonus, and 0.1% PvM damage reduction. It has no accuracy penalty for magic, which is why free-to-play mages like to use it. Its examine text calls it a silly pointed hat, but it does real work in combat.

The hat is tradeable and noteable. In the game, it drops from dark wizards and Dagon'hai Monks. It can also be bought at Betty's Magic Emporium in Port Sarim. Players with level 1 Crafting can make one from a strip of black cloth using a needle and thread. Members can also dye a normal wizard hat with black mushroom ink. If you apply blue dye to this hat, it turns into a blue wizard hat.
