Description
The wizard hat is a classic piece of magic gear in RuneScape 3. It only needs level 1 Magic and level 1 Defence to wear, so any player can put it on. It is tier 5 tank armour for the head slot. It gives 30 armour and 50 life points, plus small damage reduction in PvM and PvP. It has no accuracy penalty for magic attacks, which makes it a good fit for new spellcasters.
This hat is free to play and tradeable. Players can craft it at level 1 Crafting with a needle, one strip of cloth, and thread for 5 experience. It can also be made by dyeing a black wizard hat with blue dye. Monsters like imps, wizards, and Spellwisps drop it too.
The wizard hat has other uses as well. Treasure Trails clues sometimes ask for one, so it helps to keep a spare. It can be disassembled for Cover parts, Deflecting parts, and Magic parts, with a small chance of Powerful and Protective components. Its examine text calls it a silly pointed hat, but it is a handy item for any mage.
