Description

Catfish is a members-only food item in RuneScape 3. Eating a cooked catfish heals 1,500 life points. This makes it a solid food choice for training, quests, and combat.

Catfish comes from raw catfish, which players catch in the Port district of Menaphos. Catching them needs level 60 Fishing, a fishing rod, and fishing bait. Each catch gives 85 Fishing experience and 4.5 reputation to the player's active Menaphos faction. There is also a 1 in 2,000 chance to get a slimy egg, which unlocks the Squeck pet.

Cooking a raw catfish needs level 60 Cooking. It can be cooked on a range or a fire and gives 145 Cooking experience. Players stop burning catfish at level 86, or at level 83 with cooking gauntlets. Cooked catfish is also one of the fish dishes needed for the Fishy Dishes achievement.

Catfish is tradeable, noteable, and weighs 0.5 kg. It can be disassembled in the Food and herbs category for 1.8 disassembly XP. Materials include Organic parts, Crafted parts, Enhancing components, Healthy components, and Living components. Raw catfish can also be used in a trough to make Fishy mush or Variety mush.
