Description

The open coconut is a members-only item in RuneScape 3. It is the open seed of a palm tree and it holds milk inside. A coconut is opened by using a hammer on it, which gives 1 Cooking experience. Opening one needs only level 1 Cooking and takes just one game tick.

The main use for an open coconut is making coconut milk. Use the coconut on an empty vial to get coconut milk and a coconut shell. Coconut milk is a key ingredient for some high-level potions made with the Herblore skill. The coconut shell can be used to make supercompost. You can also place an open coconut straight into a compost bin to make supercompost.

Open coconuts come from coconuts grown on palm trees, which need level 68 Farming to grow in a fruit tree patch. Buying open coconuts skips the farming and lets players get right to potion making.

The item is tradeable, noteable, and stackable, so it is easy to store and move in bulk. It weighs only 0.028 kg. It can also be disassembled, giving mostly organic parts with small chances of other components.
