Description
The Elder birdhouse is a Hunter trap in RuneScape 3. It catches birds on its own while you do other things. You need level 91 Hunter to place it at a birdhouse plot in Havenhythe. Fill it with four seeds, wait 75 seconds, and it is ready to empty.
Each Elder birdhouse gives 950 Hunter experience when you empty it. That adds up to about 152,000 Hunter XP per hour on a full birdhouse run. It is one of the best birdhouse tiers in the game, second only to eternal magic.
Emptying the birdhouse also gives rewards. You always get 6 raw bird meat and 18 to 36 feathers. You may also find up to three bird's nests. Nests can hold rings, seeds, wood spirits, bird eggs, or Imcando hatchet parts. An oaken key is a rare extra drop.
Crafting this birdhouse yourself takes level 90 Crafting, level 10 Fletching, one elder log, and one clockwork. Buying it ready-made skips all of that. You only need the Hunter level to place it. The birdhouse is used up when you empty it, but the clockwork returns to your backpack.
