Description
Extra fine sand is a members-only item in RuneScape 3. Players use it to make the Orthen furnace core, the artificer's measure, and blessed sand. It takes 100 sand to make an Orthen furnace core, 1,000 for an artificer's measure, and 40,000 for a blessed flask.
The sand is made at level 20 Crafting by grinding sandstone with a pestle and mortar. Heavier sandstone gives sand at a faster rate. It can also be made with the Telekinetic Grind spell at level 85 Magic, or picked from Menaphos market guards at level 104 Thieving.
Blessed sand is made by blessing extra fine sand at certain Saradominist altars, such as Entrana, the Lumbridge Altar, or the Edgeville Monastery. This needs level 20 Prayer.
Extra fine sand is stackable and tradeable, and it weighs nothing. It is always kept outside dangerous areas on death. Grinding tens of thousands of sandstone takes a long time, so buying the sand saves many hours of clicking. This makes it a smart pick for players working toward a blessed flask or other high-level Crafting goals.
