This platebody gives 104.4 armour and a bonus of 450 life points. It also cuts the damage you take by 0.6% against monsters and 1.8% against other players. That makes it a solid pick for lower level players who want to stay safe in combat.
Players with level 30 Smithing can make one at an anvil with a hammer and 5 mithril bars. Making it gives 600 Smithing experience. You can also upgrade it. Adding 5 more bars makes a mithril platebody + 1 at tier 31. Adding 10 more bars after that makes a mithril platebody + 2 at tier 32.
The mithril platebody is tradeable, lendable, and noteable. It can also be disassembled for parts like cover parts, plated parts, and deflecting parts. It drops from monsters such as Animated Mithril Armour, and armour shops in Varrock, Keldagrim, and East Ardougne sell it too.
