Red dragon leather is a members item in RuneScape 3. It is prepared red dragonhide, ready to be crafted into red dragonhide armour. Each piece of leather gives 78 Crafting XP when used, so it is a solid pick for players who want to train Crafting.
With a needle and thread, a member can craft red dragon leather into six items. Boots and vambraces each use 1 leather for 78 XP. Chaps and a coif each use 2 leather for 156 XP. A body uses 3 leather for 234 XP. A shield uses 4 leather for 312 XP.
Red dragon leather is normally made by giving a red dragonhide and 20 coins to a tanner. Tanners are found in Al Kharid, the Ranging Guild, Varrock, Taverley, Canifis and the Crafting Guild. It can also be made with the Make Leather spell at level 83 Magic, which tans 28 hides at once.
The item is tradeable and noteable but not stackable. It weighs 3.175 kg. Buying red dragon leather saves time spent hunting red dragons and tanning hides, so players can get right to crafting armour and XP.
