Description
Amethyst javelin tips are a members-only item in Old School RuneScape. Players make them by using a chisel on an amethyst at level 87 Crafting. Each amethyst gives 5 tips and 60 Crafting experience. The tips are tradeable, stackable, and weigh nothing. They cannot be equipped or noted.
The main use for these tips is Fletching. At level 84 Fletching, you can attach them to javelin shafts to make amethyst javelins. This gives 202.5 experience per 15 javelins made. Javelin shafts are made by using regular logs with a knife.
Amethyst javelins are strong Ranged ammo. They are the second-best javelin in the game, beaten only by dragon javelins. They give a ranged attack bonus of +135 and work with the light ballista and the heavy ballista. Like most javelins, they can be poisoned.
These tips are a smart pick for players who train Fletching or who want to stock up on ballista ammo. Since they are stackable and weightless, a large batch takes up only one inventory space. The item was renamed from Amethyst javelin heads to Amethyst javelin tips on 5 November 2025.
