Black dragon leather is a Crafting material in Old School RuneScape. Players use it to make black d'hide armour, which is strong gear for rangers. Each piece of armour you craft gives 86 Crafting experience per hide used.
You can make this leather yourself by taking a black dragonhide and 20 coins to a tanner. Tanners are found in Al Kharid, the Ranging Guild, Forthos Dungeon, Canifis, Auburnvale, and the Crafting Guild. Sbott in Canifis charges 45 coins instead. You can also use the Tan Leather spell. That spell needs level 78 Magic and the hard Fremennik Diary, and it tans 5 hides per cast.
Black dragon leather makes four items. Black d'hide vambraces need 1 leather and level 79 Crafting for 86 XP. Black d'hide chaps need 2 leathers and level 82 for 172 XP. A black d'hide shield needs 2 leathers, a redwood shield, 15 rune nails, and level 83 for 172 XP. A black d'hide body needs 3 leathers and level 84 for 258 XP.
