The Black platebody (h4) is a heraldic version of the black platebody in Old School RuneScape. It comes from easy Treasure Trails as a rare reward, dropping from an easy reward casket at a rate of 1 in 1,404. It is a cosmetic variant, so it has the same stats as a normal black platebody. Players need 10 Defence to wear it.

This platebody gives solid melee defence for its level. It offers +41 Stab, +40 Slash, +30 Crush, and +40 Ranged defence, with a -6 Magic defence bonus. It has attack penalties of -30 to Magic and -15 to Ranged, so it works best for melee combat. The item weighs 9.979 kg.

Heraldic armour cannot be made with the Smithing skill, and players cannot decorate it themselves. That makes clue scroll rewards the only way to get it. The platebody can be stored in the treasure chest of a costume room in a player-owned house. It joins the black platelegs (h4) or plateskirt (h4), black shield (h4), and black helm (h4) as part of an easy-level clue set. It is a nice pick for players who want a rare look at a low level.
