The Gold amulet (u) is an unstrung gold amulet in Old School RuneScape. The (u) means it is unfinished. It needs a string before a player can wear it. Once strung with a ball of wool, it becomes a strung gold amulet. Its item ID is 1673.

Players make this item with the Crafting skill. It takes level 8 Crafting and a gold bar used on a furnace with an amulet mould. Making one gives 30 Crafting experience, and stringing it gives 4 more. Players with level 80 Magic can also string it with the String Jewellery spell. The spell uses 5 water runes, 10 earth runes, and 2 astral runes. It gives 83 Magic experience and 4 Crafting experience.

Unlike gem amulets, gold amulets cannot be enchanted, so they are purely cosmetic. The item is free to play, tradeable, and noteable. It is not equipable, not stackable, and not a quest item. It weighs 0.004 kg. It can also drop from the level 103 Mummy in the Ancient Pyramid at a rate of 25 in 513. This makes it a handy pickup for Crafting training or resale.
