Description

Merchant's paint is a boat paint in Old School RuneScape. It is used to recolour the trim on a player's skiff or sloop. You apply it at the boat schematics board at the Shipyard. Trimming a boat needs level 25 Sailing and 20 Construction, and it gives 10 Construction experience. A skiff needs one paint. A sloop needs two.

This paint is hard to get in-game. You must give Trader Stan all five tradeable paints at once. That set includes shark paint from port tasks, inky paint as a rare drop from krakens, barracuda paint from Marlin rank Barracuda Trials, salvor's paint from martial salvage, and angler's paint from deep sea trawling. Some of these are very rare drops, so gathering the full set can take a long time.

Salvor's paint only comes from martial salvage at mercenary shipwrecks. Because of that, an ironman needs a boostable Sailing level of at least 73 to get merchant's paint on their own. Buying it skips that long grind.
