Description

Ancient gravel is a type of soil in RuneScape 3. Players dig it up at the Kharid-et Dig Site, which needs level 5 Archaeology, or at the Senntisten Dig Site from level 60. Trainee archaeologists and archaeologists at these sites can also give it out.

The main use for ancient gravel is screening. With level 5 Archaeology, players can screen it at the screening station at the Archaeology Campus. The Sift Soil spell from the Lunar Spellbook works too. Screening gives Archaeology experience and a chance at useful materials like Third Age iron, Goldrune, Ancient vis, and Blood of Orcus. There is also a 1 in 1,000 chance to find a damaged artefact instead of a material.

Ancient gravel has other uses as well. With level 78 Herblore, five gravel plus an avantoe potion makes an Archaeology potion. With level 20 Cooking, one gravel helps make a Cup of soil tea.

Ancient gravel is not members-only, so free players can use it too. It is tradeable, noteable, and can be disassembled. It is a handy item for anyone training Archaeology in RS3.
