The black shield (h1) is a heraldic version of the black kiteshield in RuneScape 3. It has a special heraldic design on the front, but its stats match the normal black kiteshield. You need level 25 Defence to wear it, and it goes in the shield slot as a tier 25 melee shield.
The shield gives 76.2 armour and 2.5% PvM damage reduction. It weighs 5.443 kg. If you disassemble it, you get 7.5 Disassembly XP and one Fortunate component every time.
This shield is a possible reward from an easy reward casket in Treasure Trails. Players cannot make heraldic armour with the Smithing skill, and it cannot be decorated. That makes clue scrolls the only way to get it in the game.
The black shield (h1) is part of the h1 easy-level set. Pair it with the black platebody (h1), black platelegs (h1) or black plateskirt (h1), and the black helm (h1). The full set can be stored in a treasure chest in the costume room of a player-owned house. It is a great pick for collectors who want the full heraldic look.
