Description
Blowpipe chitin is a rare drop in RuneScape 3. It is a hard chunk of shell that comes from dinosaur Slayer monsters on Anachronia. The Ripper dinosaur, Venomous dinosaur, Feral Dinosaur, and Brutish dinosaur can each drop one.
This item has one main use. Players combine it with the bone blowpipe, blowpipe fins, and a blowpipe feather to make the upgraded bone blowpipe. Crafting this weapon requires level 87 Crafting and gives 1,000 Crafting experience. The base bone blowpipe is a tier 50 two-handed thrown ranged weapon that needs no ammo, so the upgrade path starts there.
Blowpipe chitin is a members-only item. It is tradeable and noteable, which makes it easy to buy instead of hunting for a rare drop. Drop rates from the dinosaurs range from 1 in 5,400 to 1 in 20,000, so finding one on your own can take a long time.
The item can also be disassembled. It can give Organic parts, Evasive components, or Silent components, though it has a high junk chance of 98.9 percent. It cannot be equipped, does not stack, and weighs 2.5 kg.
