Leaping sturgeon
undefined
The leaping sturgeon is a fish in RuneScape 3. Players need 70 Fishing, 45 Strength, and 45 Agility to catch it. Each catch gives 80 Fishing experience, 7 Strength experience, and 7 Agility experience. It is caught at Otto's Grotto with a barbarian rod and bait such as fishing bait, feathers, fish offcuts, roe, or caviar. Players must start Barbarian Training first.
This fish cannot be cooked. Instead, players use a knife on it to make caviar. This gives 15 Cooking experience and can also give fish offcuts. The leaping sturgeon is the only leaping fish that gives caviar. Caviar is used in Herblore to make barbarian mixes. Every sturgeon gives caviar when gutted, so it is smart to keep one inventory space open. A full inventory blocks the fish offcuts from dropping with the caviar.
The leaping sturgeon weighs 1 kg. It is tradeable, noteable, and can be disassembled. It cannot be equipped or stacked. Players can also add it to player-owned farm troughs to make fishy mush or variety mush. It is a solid pick for training Cooking and Herblore.
