Leather gloves are basic hand armour in RuneScape 3. They are free to play, easy to use, and have no level requirement. Any player can equip them right away. They weigh only 0.226 kg and can be traded on the Grand Exchange.
These gloves count as Tier 1 Ranged tank armour. They give 5.5 Armour and a small 0.02% damage reduction against monsters. They are always kept on death outside a dangerous area, so new players do not need to worry about losing them.
Leather gloves are useful for skills too. Players can make them at level 1 Crafting with soft leather and a needle for 13.75 Crafting experience. At level 42 Crafting, steel studs can be added to make studded leather gloves, which gives 40 Crafting experience. The gloves can also be disassembled into parts like Cover, Padded, and Tensile parts, plus Evasive and Protective components.
Leather gloves are a simple pick for early game outfits, low level Crafting training, or filling out a starter gear set. They are a small item that helps new accounts get some protection on the hands fast.
