Description
The RS3 Portable Sawmill is a members item that turns logs into planks. Place it anywhere you could light a fire, then use it like a sawmill operator. Other players can see and use it too. It lasts 5 minutes, and you can extend that time with the Extend Portable option.
The big perk is the price. Planks cost 10% less than the regular sawmill operator. Normal planks cost 70 coins, oak planks cost 175 coins, teak planks cost 350 coins, and mahogany planks cost 1,050 coins. You pick how many logs to convert, and the sawmill does the work.
Speed is the other reason players want it. You can make around 8,000 planks per hour. Rates can go even higher if you place it near a one-step bank, like the Combat Academy bank chest in Lumbridge, and use a bank preset with mahogany logs.
The item is tradeable, stackable, and weighs nothing. It is always kept on death and cannot be alchemised. It is a smart pick for training Construction or making planks to sell.
