Description

Red topaz is a semi-precious gem in RuneScape 3. It comes from cutting an uncut red topaz with a chisel at level 16 Crafting. A successful cut gives 25 Crafting experience. Below level 50, the gem can break during cutting, but at level 50 it never fails.

Red topaz has many uses. It can be crafted into topaz jewellery, such as a ring, necklace, bracelet, or amulet. When enchanted, these items gain special powers. The Necklace of gluttony heals an extra 100 life points when you eat food. The Headhunter's thrill bracelet gives a chance to keep your Slayer count while still earning experience. The Enlightened amulet teleports you to useful spots like Lumbridge Swamp.

Red topaz can also be cut into topaz bolt tips at level 48 Fletching. Each gem makes 12 tips for topaz bolts, which can lower an enemy's Magic level. The gem is also traded to Safta Doc to make a red topaz machete, which counts toward a medium Karamja achievement.

You can sell a cut red topaz to Gabooty's Tai Bwo Wannai Cooperative for 60 trading sticks. It is tradeable and light, so it is easy to carry and use.
