Description
Seaweed is a members item in RuneScape 3. It is a key ingredient for making molten glass. Players who train Crafting need lots of it, so it is always in demand.
To make glass, you first cook seaweed on a fire or range. This turns it into soda ash and gives 1 Cooking experience. With a dwarven army axe in your inventory or hands, you get 4 experience instead. If you use the Superglass Make spell from the Lunar spellbook, you can skip cooking and turn seaweed into molten glass right away. This makes glass making much faster.
Seaweed has other uses too. You can grind it with a pestle and mortar to make ground seaweed, which is used to make fish food for pet fish. Seaweed can also be disassembled for organic parts and other components.
Getting seaweed on your own takes time. You can fish it up with a big fishing net at level 16 Fishing, or pick it up from spawns along shores like Entrana and Karamja. Buying seaweed in bulk lets you skip the slow gathering and get straight to training Crafting.
