Description

Soda ash is a Crafting material in RuneScape 3. It is one of the two items needed to make molten glass. To make glass, use a bucket of sand on a furnace while you have soda ash in your inventory. Molten glass can then be blown into items like beer glasses, vials, and orbs.

Players get soda ash by cooking seaweed, kelp, edible seaweed, or swamp weed on a range or fire. Making it grants 1 Cooking experience, or 4 with a dwarven army axe wielded or in the inventory. It also drops from killerwatts and dust devils, and can be picked from Ithell workers in Prifddinas.

With a Desert amulet 2 or higher, soda ash can be turned into molten glass without buckets of sand. This works 50 times a day, 100 with a Desert amulet 3, or 150 with a Desert amulet 4. Soda ash is also needed to make the blessed flask.

Buying soda ash saves time spent gathering and cooking seaweed. It is a smart pick for players training Crafting or working toward glassblowing goals. The item is tradeable, noteable, and can be disassembled.
