Description
A staff is a two-handed Magic weapon in RuneScape 3. Staves are used to cast combat spells. They give strong Magic accuracy bonuses and hit at an Average attack speed of 3.6 seconds. Their auto-attacks are stronger than those from wands, orbs, and books, but they attack slower.
Elemental staves give unlimited runes of their element when casting spells. This saves money on runes. Battlestaves are upgraded staves, and mystic staves are enchanted battlestaves. Some supply two rune types. Steam staves give water and fire runes. Lava staves give earth and fire runes. Mud staves give water and earth runes. The elemental battlestaff gives all four elemental runes.
Some spells need a certain staff. The slayer's staff or staff of light is needed for Slayer Dart. The Polypore staff is needed for Polypore Strike. The three God staves come from the Mage Arena and have special attacks that cost 25% adrenaline.
Most basic staves have no requirements to wield. The white magic staff needs level 25 Magic and the Wanted! quest. Higher staves scale with Magic levels, from level 30 battlestaves up to the level 99 Masterwork staff with 3100 accuracy.
