Description

The steel crossbow (unstrung) is a steel crossbow in RuneScape 3 before a string is added. It is made with the Fletching skill at level 46 by combining a teak stock with steel crossbow limbs. Making it gives 54 Fletching experience.

Players want this item to train Fletching or to make a finished weapon. Adding a crossbow string turns it into a steel crossbow and gives 27 more Fletching experience. Once strung, it can also be used to make an off-hand steel crossbow or a steel 2h crossbow at level 46. Each of those also needs a crossbow string and gives 27 experience.

The finished steel crossbow is stronger than the iron crossbow. It needs a Ranged level of 20 to wield and fires bolts. It is also needed to build the hidey-hole in Lumbridge next to the River Lum.

The unstrung crossbow weighs 8 kg. It is tradeable and noteable, but it cannot be equipped until it is strung. It can also be disassembled for parts like connector parts, spiked parts, tensile parts, stunning components, and dextrous components.
