Description

The yak-hide armour top is a members-only melee body armour in RuneScape 3. It needs level 20 Defence to wear. It is a tier 25 tank armour piece with an armour rating of 87.6 and a life points bonus of 375. It matches black armour in Defence but weighs much less, at just 2.721 kg.

This top shines against Ice trolls. When worn, it reduces the maximum hit of Ice troll males, grunts, and runts. That makes it the best pick for The Fremennik Isles quest and for fighting Ice trolls in general. It is not meant for other player vs. player or player vs. monster combat.

The yak-hide top is also needed for achievements. Yak Attack asks you to wear yak-hide armour and kill an ice troll. Baroo Quality asks you to defeat a Dagannoth King solo while wearing full yak-hide armour and a Fremennik round shield.

Players can also make this top with level 46 Crafting using 2 cured yak-hides, a needle, and thread, but that requires starting The Fremennik Isles quest first. Trading with another player is the easy way to get one.
