The incomplete heavy ballista is a members-only item in Old School RuneScape. It is one step in making the heavy ballista, a strong two-handed ranged weapon that fires javelins.

This item is made with the Fletching skill. A player attaches ballista limbs to a heavy frame at level 72 Fletching. This gives 30 Fletching experience. The next step is to add a ballista spring, which makes an unstrung heavy ballista and gives 30 more experience. A monkey tail finishes the weapon. The full process gives 660 Fletching experience in total.

The finished heavy ballista needs 75 Ranged and completion of Monkey Madness II to wield. It gives +125 ranged attack and +15 ranged strength. It hits slowly but deals big damage per shot, which makes it a solid pick for budget ranged setups.

The incomplete heavy ballista cannot be equipped on its own. It is tradeable and noteable, but it does not stack. It weighs 5.5 kg. Buying this item saves time for players who want to skip part of the crafting process or train Fletching toward the finished weapon.
