Description

Raw swordtip squid is a members-only fish in Old School RuneScape. Players catch it with a lantern and harpoon at lantern fishing spots, which are found on certain islands at sea. Catching it needs level 52 Fishing and gives 55 Fishing XP per catch. No bait is needed. Reaching these spots takes at least level 47 Sailing, the level needed to dock at the Onyx Crest.

At level 56 Cooking, raw swordtip squid can be cooked on a fire or range into swordtip squid. The cooked fish heals 15 Hitpoints and gives 150 Cooking XP when cooked with success. It stops burning at level 91 on a fire and level 85 on a range. The Hosidius kitchen range lowers this to 82 with a 5% bonus or 80 with a 10% bonus.

This fish has other uses too. It can be crushed with a pestle and mortar into squid paste, which is used to make haemostatic dressings. Cutting it with a knife or chum facility makes fish offcuts for bait, with a 1 in 1,024 chance per cut to get a squid beak for wooden blowpipes. The item is tradeable, noteable, and weighs 0.45 kg.
