Description
The steel crossbow is a one-handed ranged weapon in Old School RuneScape. It is stronger than the iron crossbow and sits below the mithril crossbow. You need level 31 Ranged to wield it. It gives a +54 Ranged attack bonus and can fire bolts up to and including steel bolts.
This crossbow has an attack range of 7 tiles. The Longrange style raises that to 9 tiles and adds Defence experience. The Rapid style makes it shoot faster, which helps you deal more damage over time. It is a solid pick for players training Ranged at lower levels.
Players can also make this crossbow with the Fletching skill at level 46. You cut a teak stock from teak logs, add steel limbs with a hammer, then attach a crossbow string. Making one from raw materials gives 108 Fletching experience in total. It can even be made with a boosted Fletching level.
The steel crossbow is a members-only item and is tradeable. It also drops from Spiritual rangers and is sold at crossbow shops in the Dwarven Mines, White Wolf Mountain, and Keldagrim Palace.
