Description

The iron crossbow is a one-handed ranged weapon in Old School RuneScape. It is stronger than the blurite crossbow but weaker than the steel crossbow. You need level 26 Ranged to wield it. It can fire bolts up to and including iron bolts.

This crossbow gives a Ranged attack bonus of +42. It has no defence bonuses. Its normal attack range is 7 tiles. If you use the Longrange style, the range grows to 9 tiles. The Accurate style gives extra Ranged experience, Rapid attacks faster, and Longrange gives extra Defence experience. The crossbow weighs 4 kg.

Players can also make this crossbow with level 39 Fletching. First, cut a willow stock from willow logs. Then add iron limbs to the stock with a hammer. Last, add a crossbow string. Making one from raw materials gives 88 Fletching experience in total. Crossbows can be made with a boosted Fletching level.

The iron crossbow is a solid choice for low-level Ranged training. It is a good step up for players who have passed level 26 Ranged and want a cheap, simple weapon before moving on to stronger crossbows.
