Description
The blue dragon scale is a Herblore item in RuneScape 3. Players grind it with a pestle and mortar to make dragon scale dust. Grinding one scale gives 1 dragon scale dust and 1 Herblore experience. Dragon scale dust is a secondary ingredient used to make antifire potions and weapon poison.
Blue dragon scales normally spawn on the ground near blue dragons in the Taverley Dungeon. There are 7 spawns in the main blue dragon enclosure and 12 spawns in the Taverley blue dragon resource dungeon, which needs level 60 Dungeoneering to enter. The enclosure itself needs a dusty key or level 70 Agility. Ancient rangers can also drop these scales.
Players with level 85 Magic can use the Telekinetic Grind spell to turn 28 scales into 28 dragon scale dust at once. This uses 2 astral runes and 1 law rune. The scale can also be ground right from the backpack.
Blue dragon scales are light at 0.01 kg each. They are tradeable and noteable, and they can be disassembled for Simple parts or Variable components. The scale can also show up as a needed item in the quest A Fairy Tale I - Growing Pains.
