Description
A bucket of sand is a basic Crafting item in RuneScape 3. It is one of the two things needed to make molten glass. Use a bucket of sand with soda ash at a furnace to make it. Molten glass is used to train Crafting and Construction, and it is also used in Archaeology.
Sand has more uses too. In Summoning, a bucket of sand with a pouch, a green charm, and 45 spirit shards makes a desert wyrm pouch. It can also be mixed with an empty sack to make a sandbag.
Players with level 77 Magic who finished Dream Mentor can cast Superglass Make. This spell turns 14 buckets of sand and seaweed or soda ash into about 18 molten glass at once. That makes sand a key item for fast Crafting training.
Getting sand by hand takes time. It comes from sandpits in places like Yanille, Zanaris, and Prifddinas, one bucket at a time. Buying buckets of sand in bulk skips the slow trips and lets players get right to making glass. Each bucket weighs 2.5 kg and the item is tradeable.
