Description

Imp repellent is a members-only potion in RuneScape 3. Players use it during the Impetuous Impulses minigame in Puro-Puro, where they catch implings with a butterfly net and impling jars.

The potion has two main uses. First, carrying it lowers the chance that imp defenders will free the implings you have caught. A higher Thieving level lowers this chance even more. Second, it can make empty impling jars. Use the repellent on the lamp oil still in the chemists' house in Rimmington. Then use a butterfly jar on the still to turn it into an impling jar. This uses up the repellent and makes one jar. Normal butterfly jars cannot hold implings, so this is a handy way to get the right jars.

In the game, players can get imp repellent from Elnock Inquisitor by trading three baby impling jars, two young impling jars, and one gourmet impling jar. It can also be made with a vial, a pestle and mortar, eight cooked anchovies, flowers, and a sieve. Making it needs level 1 Herblore and gives 5 experience. The item is tradeable and weighs 2.267 kg.
