Description

Raw jumbo squid is a members-only fish in Old School RuneScape. Players catch it by lantern harpooning, which needs level 69 Fishing, a harpoon, and a lantern such as the Emerald Lantern, Sapphire Lantern, Abyssal Lantern, or Lit bug lantern. The lantern fishing spots are only found on certain islands at sea. You need at least level 47 Sailing to dock at the Onyx Crest and reach them. Each catch gives 75 Fishing XP.

Raw jumbo squid has many uses. With level 71 Cooking, it can be cooked into jumbo squid, a food that heals 17 Hitpoints. It can also be crushed with a pestle and mortar into squid paste, which is used to make haemostatic dressings.

Cutting the raw fish with a knife or a chum facility gives fine fish offcuts, a bait used in many fishing activities. Each cut also has a 1 in 512 chance to give a squid beak, which is used to make wooden blowpipes. A chum facility can give more than one beak per cutting action.

Raw jumbo squid is tradeable and noteable, so it is easy to buy in bulk for cooking or crafting.
