Description
Silk is a sheet of silk in RuneScape 3. It is a tradeable item that weighs 1 kg. Players cannot make silk themselves, so it must be obtained another way.
Silk has many uses in quests. It opens the magic door in the Dwarven Mines during Dragon Slayer. Ten pieces are needed to build the balloon in Enlightened Journey. Eight pieces make extra clockwork suits in Hunt for Red Raktuber. Two pieces fix damaged mourner trousers in Mourning's End Part I.
Silk also works in Crafting. With a clockwork and a plank at a Crafting table 3, it makes a clockwork suit and gives 30 Crafting experience. Along with bear fur, it can repair mourner trousers at Oronwen.
When used with Karamjan rum, silk turns into a cleaning cloth. This cloth wipes the colour off an abyssal whip or dark bow that was coloured in Barbarian Assault.
Silk can be sold to the Silk Merchant in East Ardougne for up to 60 coins per piece. Doing this completes the easy Ardougne achievement called Silky Smooth. Silk can also be disassembled for Simple parts or Variable components.
